Why is it that we don't perform a back roll in the Yagyu Ryu Jujutsu? When we went through the classes that were just breakfalling, we didn't do back rolls there either. Is it because of armor? Does a back roll put one in a vulneralbe position (with the back of the head coming up first and all)?

Back roll is part of the Curriculum but in more advanced stages. In the previous breakfalling class, we did not get to that point. You will see them soon in the Jujutsu class.
